Mag Seeks Literary Work on Consequences of War

Editors at "Consequence: An International Literary Magazine Focusing on the Culture of War" have opened their annual submissions window for previously unpublished short fiction, poetry, nonfiction, non-fiction, interviews, visual art, and reviews.

Submissions opened May 1, 2019 and will end Aug. 31, 2019.

The independent, non-profit magazine now features both an on-line platform and annual print edition. The latter is published each spring.

The magazine now pays $25 per printed page of poetry; $10 per page for fiction; and $15 for translated works.

For fiction and non-fiction, submit one piece of no more than 5,000 words.

For poetry, submit up to three poems of any length. Translations are acceptable with author's permission.

Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, provided notification to editors is made if the work is accepted elsewhere. Submissions are to be made via Submittable here.

Partial information regarding a related 2019 fiction contest and prize is available here. Information on judge and deadline is not yet available. Prize is $250 honorarium and publication. $10 non-refundable contest fee via PayPal. "Entries must capture the nuances of the cultures and consequences of war; the topic is not limited to military matters, but includes social, political and cultural subjects."

Information regarding a related 2019 poetry contest and prize is also pending.
