Albuquerque Mil-Writing Event Seeks Presenters

The Military Writers Society of America (MWSA), in partnership with Southwest Writers (SWW), recently reiterated its call for proposals to present as faculty at a combined conference event to be held Sept. 12-15, 2019 in Albuquerque, N.M.

The theme of the event is "Moving Up the Ladder: From Writer to Author." Travel, conference registration, and expenses will NOT be paid. Deadline for proposals is May 1, 2019.

The conference will consist of two full days of panels and presentations regarding:
  • Developing skills, devices, and conventions of creative writing.
  • Successful genre writing, including suspense, historical fiction, non-fiction, poetry, memoir, and others.
  • Strategies and developments in marketing one's work.
To submit proposals, send e-mail to the conference coordinator at: jimtritten AT comcast DOT net

State in the subject line: “My submission to be a presenter at the 2019 joint MWSA/SWW Albuquerque Writing Conference.” Make sure to include:
  • Your name and contact information.
  • A description of what subject or topic you would like to teach, such as a 45-50 minute presentation on the elements of storytelling, writing a memoir or non-fiction piece, working with characters and dialogue.
  • Your experience in having previously presented on this or a similar topic.
  • Your experience as a writer.
  • Required course aids and/or technology, such as hand-outs, projector and screen, etc.
