Flintlock Road, Kansas City, Mo. 64157. Registration is required. (See link here.) Lunch will be provided.

A website page for the event is here.

According to press materials:
This free, day-long workshop is designed to give veterans and family members the tools and confidence to develop and write their own stories. Attendees can choose from a variety of sessions delivered by professional instructors. No prior writing experience is necessary. You can choose the classes you want to attend from two offerings for each hour of the workshop. Gain inspiration and confidence in your ability to tell your story.
Established in 2013, the Story Center is part of the Mid-Continent Public Library (M.C.P.L), a consolidated library district and tax-supported political subdivision that serves nearly 800,000 people in the greater Kansas City metro area.

The Story Center's programming includes the Woodneath Press, the MCPL's imprint of scholarly, literary, and general interest books. Through the press, the library maintains an on-site print-on-demand service that uses an Espresso Book Machine for production.

The mission of Story Center is to celebrate and develop writers, performers, and filmmakers through access to free resources, workshops, and a community of storytellers. The Story Center offers a Storytelling Certificate Program in partnership with Metropolitan Community College's Maple Woods campus, a speaker series in partnership with Rainy Day Books, a local author fair annually each December, and the Woodneath Press.
